Contract lifecycle management, and a number I did not choose

Implemented and ran Ironclad as the company's contract lifecycle management system. The legal team reported a 65% improvement in efficiency and service quality.

My role: Implementation, vendor relationship and ongoing operation.

The problem

Contracts moved through the company by email and good intentions. The legal team was the bottleneck for work that was mostly administrative, and nobody could see where anything was.

What I did

  • Implemented Ironclad end to end and then stayed to manage it, which is the part most implementations skip.
  • Worked directly with the legal team on how they actually wanted to work rather than how the tool assumed they would.
  • Handled the vendor relationship, renewals and negotiation alongside the technical rollout.

What changed

  • A 65% improvement in legal-team efficiency and service quality, a figure reported by the Chief Legal Officer, not one I produced.
  • Contract status visible to the people who needed it without having to ask.

What I took from it

The most useful number on my CV is the one somebody else calculated. Ask the team you served to describe the change, and use their words.
